It’s been a crazy few weeks, and we’re just coming out the other end of it. First, we had the half-term sick bug hit three of us, including Iz, and she’s still having some lingering issues from that. Then she started nursery and, in her very first week, picked up hand, foot and mouth, while the rest of us ended up with colds. What felt like ages later, her big brother also came down with the dreaded hand, foot and mouth too.
So Iz hasn’t actually managed a full day at nursery yet, and she’s definitely struggled. Her first week seemed to go so well — she didn’t like nap time, but everything else felt really positive. Then in the second week, when I collected her, she just cried, and by the third week she cried the whole time.
She’s much better now, so we’re going to see how this week goes. If it’s still not great, we might look at swapping from one full day a week to two half days. It’s not ideal, as it’s nice to have a full day to get things done, but my job is being Mumma — and being Mumma I shall be.
It feels strange when she’s not here anyway, and all I do is worry, so at least this might ease that a little. And if Iz is happy, I’m happy. 💛
