Well, today we made the decision with the help of a lovely lady from the pre-op assessment team to postpone Iz’s Reversal operation, which was scheduled for this week (9th Jan 2025). We’ve all had the flu, and Iz is still coughing. While she seems okay in herself, we don’t want to risk any complications in the operation, so we are back on the waiting list now for a new date.

It’s hard because while I absolutely don’t want her to have the surgery (who wants their child to have surgery?), I also just want it done now and over with so we can move on to the next stage, especially as it’s already delayed. Iz’s safety, however, is of course our top priority, and we’ll never compromise that just to get it done.

So, we’ll go again when the new date comes through. All feeling much better than we were.
